How to Participate and Shine Bright for Youth
Join the ride – it’s free! Whether you’re a casual rider, a family looking for a fun evening, or a passionate cyclist, everyone is welcome to Light the Night with us on June 21, 2025, from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. starting at Britannia Park.
Here’s how you can get involved:
- Register to ride — no cost!
Sign up online and secure your spot in this free, family-friendly community event. Just bring your bike and your bright spirit.
- Raise funds to really shine!
Create your own personalized fundraising page through our partner platform, JustGiving. Set your goal, share your “Y” story, and rally your friends, family, and coworkers to support YMCA’s Second Stage Housing Program for Youth.
- Earn your bike lights
Raise at least $50 by race day (June 21), and we’ll provide you with a set of special lights to deck out your bike for the ride. It’s our way of saying thank you for helping youth move from survival to stability.
- Can’t make it to the ride? You can still make an impact!
Support youth by creating your own fundraising page or making a donation online. Every contribution helps provide safe housing and vital resources to young people in need. Your generosity lights the way—even from afar.
Meet the Y’s Grand Marshall: Morgan Bello
We’re thrilled to have the YMCA’s very own VP, People & Culture and Corporate Services, Morgan Bello, leading our Light the Night: Y Ride for Youth as our Grand Marshall! At the end of June, Morgan will be riding 275 kilometres over 7 days to raise awareness and funds for the YMCA’s Second Stage Housing Program for youth experiencing homelessness. Morgan’s commitment and passion inspire us all to shine brighter and support youth in need. Join Morgan on June 21 as we light up the night together — riding, fundraising, and making a difference.
